First-Year Application Checklist

First-Year
A first-year applicant is someone who has not attended college and/or has not yet graduated from high school. Prior to high school graduation, a first-year applicant may earn college credit through post-secondary options or joint enrollment. For the most current information on first-year admission criteria and deadlines, prospective first-year applicants should visit the UGA First-Year Admissions section.

Take Note of Critical Deadlines for First-Year Applicants.

* If a deadline falls on a Sunday or a federal holiday, the postmark deadline will be extended to the first business day following the published deadline.

Postmark deadline for Spring Admission and Joint/Advanced Enrollment (Spring) applicants

Completed Part I application and non-refundable $60.00 processing fee, Counselor/School Evaluation form with official high school transcript and official SAT I and/or ACT scores must be submitted no later than today. To avoid delays in processing, we recommend that applicants submit all paper documents in the same envelope if possible.

Last possible SAT I and ACT test dates for Early Action applicants

Note: Official test scores must be submitted to UGA electronically by the respective testing agency. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to accept paper score reports or match the same with application files.

Postmark deadline for Foundation Fellowship and Bernard Ramsey Honors Scholarship application

Completed scholarship and admission application forms with all supporting materials must be submitted no later than today. To avoid delays in processing, we recommend that applicants submit all paper documents in the same envelope if possible.

Admission decisions released to Early Action applicants

Early Action applicants will be notified if they have been offered admission, denied or deferred to the Regular Decision process for further consideration.

Priority postmark deadline for Regular Decision applicants seeking merit scholarship and Honors Program consideration

Any Regular Decision applicant who wishes to be considered for a merit scholarship other than the Foundation Fellowship or Bernard Ramsey Honors Scholarship or for UGA�s Honors Program should submit a completed application.

All remaining first-year applicants will be notified if they have been offered admission or denied.

Postmark deadline for admitted first-year applicants to accept offer of admission and submit non-refundable $200 commitment deposit

Postmark deadline for Joint Enrollment (Summer/Fall) applicants

In addition to a completed Regular Decision application, a Joint Enrollment applicant must submit letters of support from a parent and a school official and a brief written personal statement of intention. As well, applicants must complete a successful interview with a member of the admissions staff if the applicant meets the minimum eligibility requirements.

Please fill out the online application as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the 'SUBMIT' button on the left column of any application screen. Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application. Mail the application agreement statement with a nonrefundable $60 application fee (Mastercard, Discover, or American Express).

Fall First-Year Application Checklist

Early Action Applicants

  • This completed online application (including the leadership and activities record and four short essays on screens 7 and 16, respectively).
  • $60 nonrefundable application fee
  • Official high school transcript
  • Counselor/School Evaluation Form
  • Official SAT or ACT scores with writing assessment*

Regular Decision and Joint/Advanced Enrollment Applicants

  • This completed online application (including the leadership and activities record and four short essays on screens 7 and 16, respectively)
  • $60 nonrefundable application fee
  • Official high school transcript
  • Counselor/School Evaluation Form
  • Official SAT or ACT scores with writing assessment*
  • Teacher Recommendation Form

*Deferred EA applicants must submit a Teacher Recommendation Form.

Critical Deadlines

Submitting the application well before the deadline will allow applicants more time to check the status of their application for missing items. To avoid delays in processing, we recommend that applicants submit all paper documents in the same envelope. Additionally, students who complete the application process well before the deadlines tend to experience fewer problems than those who wait until the last possible moment to submit their application and supporting documents. If a deadline falls on a Sunday or a national holiday, the postmark deadline shall be extended to the first business day following the published deadline.

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be reentered prior to submittal.
